Smartphone Processor: What to Look for
|
The processor in your smart phone is what allows you to open
your apps faster, play your game smoother, and edit your photos quicker. Instead of looking at the numbers, though, the best way to find out your phones performance is through reading reviews so you can get a better filling of the overall performance of the phone. For a class-leading chip, consider the Snapdragon 820 processor. This chip offers twice the efficiency and overall performance of the Snapdragon 810. This means you not only have better speed, but longer battery life as well. Your graphics will be 40% faster, the performance of your camera will be speedier, and your upload and download speeds will be much better. The A9 chip from Apple is also a great processor that is available on the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. This chip is great for gaming since its overall performance is 70% faster than A8 chip. The graphics are around 90% better than the A8. The mid-tier smart phones do well with the Snapdragon 600 series chips. They give overall good performance, but may have a little lag with more demanding games. A smart phones RAM is important for multitasking. You should never buy a phone with just 1 GB of memory 2 GB is decent for standard phones, but 4 GB is the minimum on the higher-class phones. You can find 2 GB of RAM on some Apple phones without losing performance. Often, games downloaded on a smart phone can take up as much as 1 GB themselves. That’s not to mention the videos in high resolution photos. It is recommended to buy as much internal storage as possible. Then you are smart phones are coming standard with 32 GB, with a minimum on most of the newer handsets being 16 GB. Our recommendation is to have 32 GB or more on your smart phone. You can expand your storage using a microSD card. In most stores, you can find a microSD with 128 GB for around$40. With all the things you can do with your smart phone these days, it is important to make sure your processor can keep up with it and that you have enough memory to handle everything. Always check the specs of any phone you are considering buying. |
